Chip Truwit, MD is a neuroradiologist and Professor and Chief of Radiology at Hennepin County Medical Center and Hennepin Faculty Associates. Dr. Truwit is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and subsequently the School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology with Special Competence in Nuclear Medicine and fellowship training in neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Truwit served in the US Army Medical Corps for 12 years, leaving to join the faculty at the University of Minnesota Department of Radiology in 1993. He has served as Director of Magnetic Resonance and Neuroradiology. Dr. Truwit assumed the Chair at HCMC in June 2000. He has also continued to serve as Director of Neuroradiology at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Truwit has written extensively in the field of neuroradiology and specifically pediatric neuroradiology and intraoperative MR-guided neurosurgery. He has published four textbooks including High Resolution Atlas of Cranial Neuroanatomy, the premier MR atlas of neuroanatomy since its publication in 1994. More recently, Dr. Truwit was the Guest Editor of the Neuroimaging Clinics of North America fall 2001 issue dedicated to MR-guided therapy in neurosurgery. Dr. Truwit is a regular lecturer at national and international conferences and is past-President of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology. His professional affiliations also include senior membership in the American Society of Neuroradiology as well as the Radiological Society of North America and the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. Dr. Truwit holds several medical device patents. |
